Deadline for proposals: 31 March 2017

The Japanese Association for South Asian Studies (JASAS, http://jasas.info/en/) invites paper and panel proposals for its 30th Annual Conference. A limited number of proposals from non-members of JASAS in abroad may be accepted. Registration fees (including the fee for the reception scheduled on the evening of 23 September) are 5,000 yen for general participants and 2,500 yen for students, which are to be collected at the registration desk on 23 September. JASAS does not offer any financial support or accommodation to the participants.

1) Individual paper proposals:

Name of the applicant

Affiliation and designation

Title of the paper

Summary of the paper (around 400 words)

E-mail address and postal address

Plans of how you will fund your travel expenses

Short CV

A PDF file of your published paper (if available)

 

2) Panel proposals (the duration of a session is 90-120 minutes):

Name of the panel organizer(s)

Affiliation and designation of the organizer(s)

List of panel speakers with names, affiliations and designations

Title of the panel

Summary of the panel (around 400 words)

A panel proposal is to be accompanied by individual paper titles and their summaries (150-200 words each).

E-mail addresses and postal addresses of the organizer(s) as well as panel speakers.

Plans of funding travel expenses

 

Those interested in participating the conference are requested to send the proposals by 31 March 2017. An acknowledgement of the receipt of the proposal will be sent within one week by e-mail. After selection processes, an acceptance mail will be sent by 8 June 2017. JASAS will subsequently issue an official acceptance/invitation letter, which should help the participants to obtain the visa for Japan. In case acknowledgement/acceptance letter does not reach you, please contact JASAS Annual Conference Office (jasas30toyo@gmail.com).
