12/7開催 Saiyid Zaheer Husain Jafri氏講演会のご案内

　この度、青山学院大学にて、デリー大学教授Saiyid Zaheer Husain Jafri氏による「植民地支配下の北インドにおけるインド・イスラーム教育：植民地政策とその影響Indo-Islamic Learning in Northern India under theColonial Regime: A Study of Colonial Policies and Impact/s」と題した講演が行われます。
　講師のサイエド・ザヒール・フサイン・ジャフリーSaiyid Zaheer Husain Jafri氏のご専門はムガル朝から英領インド時代にかけてのアワド地方史、スーフィー聖者廟研究です。著作に、Studies in the Anatomy of a Transformation: Awadh from Mughal to Colonial Rule (Delhi, 1998)、編書にThe Islamic Path: Sufism, Politics and Society in India（Dr. H. Reifeldとの共同編集、New Delhi, 2006）、The Great Uprising of 1857: Studies, Commentaries and Documents（Prof. S.N.R. Rizviとの共同編集、New Delhi, 2009）があります。
　ジャフリー氏は、東洋文庫において12月5-6日に開催されるシンポジウム “Comparative Study of the Waqf from the East: Dynamism of Norm and Practices in Religious and Familial Donations” のために来日されます。同シンポジウムでは、 “Familial Grants and Making of a Waqf: A Case Study of Khanqah-eKarimia, Salon (in Northern India) from Mughal to the Modern Times AD.1679-1953” という表題でご発表されます。

本講演は公開形式（事前登録不要）です。平日の夕方ではありますが、ふるってご参加いただけますようお願い申し上げます。
