The Japanese Association for South Asian Studies (JASAS, http://jasas.info/en/) invites paper and panel proposals for its 31st Annual Conference. The proposals from abroad are open to non-members of JASAS. Registration fees (including the reception on the evening of 29 September) are 5,000 yen (tentative) for general participants and 2,500 yen (tentative) for students, which are to be paid at the time of registration of the Conference. Unfortunately, JASAS is not able to offer any financial support or accommodation to the participants.
Please send proposals by e-mail to JASAS Annual Conference Office (jasas31[ at ]googlegroups.com) with the following information.
1) Individual paper proposals:
Name of the applicant
Affiliation and designation
Title of the paper
Summary of the paper (around 400 words)
E-mail address and postal address
Plans of how you will fund your travel expenses
2) Panel proposals (the duration of a session is 90-120 minutes):
Name of the panel organizer(s)
Affiliation and designation of the organizer(s)
List of panel speakers with names, affiliations and designations
Title of the panel
Summary of the panel (around 400 words)
Panel proposals are to be accompanied by individual paper title and summary for each of the proposed panel speakers (150-200 words).
E-mail addresses and postal addresses of the organizer(s) as well as panel speakers.
Plans of how you will fund your travel expenses
Please send your proposals by 10 April 2018. We will send you the acknowledgement of the receipt of the proposal within one week by e-mail. After the selection process, acceptance e-mail will be sent out by 7 June 2018. JASAS will subsequently issue official letter of acceptance and invitation, which should help the participants obtain the visa for Japan. If you receive no acknowledgement or acceptance letter, please contact JASAS Annual Conference Office (jasas31[ at ]googlegroups.com).
