The Call for Papers for the 37th Annual Conference (September 28-29, 2024)

The 37th Annual Conference of JASAS will convene in September 28-29, 2024.

The executive committee of JASAS welcomes proposals (for both individual papers and panel sessions) from all members of international South Asian Studies community.

Dates: September 28 (Saturday) – September 29 (Sunday), 2024
Venue: National Museum of Ethnology

Submission Open Date and Deadline
Abstract submissions open: 12:00(JST), March 8, 2024
Abstract submissions close: 24:00(JST), April 19, 2024

Qualification for Submission
We are pleased to invite individual papers and panels for the 37th JASAS annual conference.
Each paper will be allotted a time of 15 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion.
Each panel will be allotted a time of maximum 100 minutes.
Papers and panels may be delivered in Japanese or English.

Every member of the JASAS and applicants for admission to the JASAS are welcome to submit either an abstract for an individual paper or to propose a panel.
In a panel, more than half speakers must be our members.
(Please refer to the Web site of the JASAS for making application for membership.)

JASAS will issue a letter of invitation upon request for those who need to apply for and obtain a visa to enter Japan. JASAS cannot provide any additional assistance in obtaining a visa, other than providing personalized invitation letters.
